I’m proud to announce a brand new project developed by Flex User Group Romania : Flex My High School. The goal is to introduce and present Flex as an open source alternative to existing platforms which are teach in class hours , to offer the young students an option which leads to the future of web and desktop programming. Yesterday, we had our very first presentation for this program, at the Dunarea High School from Galati, where we’ve met a quite large number of pupils interested in what we had to show, having surprisingly good knowledge about technologies and a lot of questions about the subject. For a teaser – a mini-presentation designed to get pupils excited and interested in our Friday presentation – I consider it to be a real success.
Friday – 3rd of April – we’ll have the real presentation along with my friends and co-authors on this website : George and Mike. We will continue doing presentations in this program, targeting high schools which IT profile in our area ( Galati , Braila , Tulcea ).
Since I’ve mentioned George and Mike, I would like to introduce them too : they became my friends through another program which I’ve been active in : Wednesday Live Coding Session. Every Wednesday of the week, we’ve met in a session of live coding and discussions about Adobe technologies, mostly Flex. Over time, the idea of going to High Schools to announce and promote Flex was carefully planed and put into action by these guys – a big “Thank you guys!” from me.
